100+ Years of Grace, Faith, and Blessings!
St. John’s Lutheran Church was founded in 1889 with Rev. Hefner of Coleridge traveling by horse and buggy to Randolph every three weeks. Services were held in homes of members, the schoolhouse and Businesses. The first building was erected in 1898 on the present site. Up until 1918 our services were conducted in the German language. Council minutes were recorded in German until 1930.
In 1942-44 a new church building was constructed at the cost of sixteen-thousand dollars. This is the main worship structure that still stands today. In 1975 renovations which included a new fellowship hall, Sunday School rooms, and enclosed narthex were completed and dedicated.
The hundreds upon hundreds of people who make up the entire role of membership at St. John’s have been blessed to hear the Gospel preached, and share in Christ’s Sacraments for over one-hundred years now. In the light of a new centuary, it is our goal to reach out and share this tremendous gift with everyone we encounter. The pastor and leaders of St. John’s Lutheran Church invite you to be a part of God’s Grace through Jesus Christ. Come share in the Spirit!
